The Community & Pediatricians: Partnerships for Children Grants Program

Selection Criteria

Applications will be judged on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Active involvement of a pediatrician(s) in partnership with a community-based organization, community group, or community leader
  • Benefits for children and/or youth, particularly those who are vulnerable because of social or economic conditions or special health needs
  • Potential for rigorous evaluation, or research design, including planning and collaboration with the Core Evaluation Advisory Team
  • Potential for future growth and sustainability

In addition to an unrestricted focus portion of the grants program (up to 4 grants awarded) for projects meeting the above criteria in any focus on children's health, there are two specific grant award categories:

  1. The Disney/Breese awards, focus on prevention or treatment of infectious disease (up to two grants will be awarded)
  2. The Gayeski awards, focus on pain management (up to two grants will be awarded)

For the Disney/Breese and Gayeski Awards, the budget for an individual project may be up to $9,000.

For the unrestricted focus grant awards, the budget for an individual project may be up to $8,000.
